WASSAAB was created in 2000 when a group of dedicated Saab enthusiasts surfing a well known Saab website noticed that many were right here in the National Capital Area.  A "GTG" formed and it soon evolved into what it is today:  100+ members dedicated to the enjoyment, enhancement and preservation of these fine Swedish Automobiles.

The name "Saab" is actually an acronym for the original company, Svenska Aeroplan Akiebolaget, roughly translated to Swedish Airplane Company.  After WWII, the company planners soon realized that post-war Europe was in desperate need for personal transportation, thus, the Saab 92 was built, and they've never looked back.

From the humble beginnings with a two cylinder, two stroke engine, to today's 250 horsepower turbocharged V6 in the 9-3SportSedan, WASSAAB welcomes all vintages, all interests surrounding SAAB.
